Exciting news-on August 9, the key visual and trailer for Niihama Hikari Monogatari: Aoi Lion, a special film celebrating RSK’s 70th anniversary, were finally revealed!
It all started back in 2022 when the Ehime Film Commission received a request:
“We’re planning to create a film based on the painter Yoshinari Ishimura, and we’d love your support for the filming.”
Fast forward two years, and the film is now complete! Throughout the process, the Ehime Film Commission provided location support, shared insights on film production, and helped introduce potential filming spots.
This is what we call a “local film”—a production deeply rooted in a specific region. For those familiar with Ishimura’s work or name, this movie will be a great way to explore his world even further.
The film is set for an advanced screening this fall in Ehime and other locations. Another incredible film showcasing Ehime’s beauty has been born, and we’d love to hear your thoughts after watching it!
